Caroline Residovic

Caroline Residovic is an environmental scientist with over twenty years in public sector roles in the environment and innovation portfolios. She is currently leading the Office of the Chief Scientist & Engineer’s Bushfire Response R&D Mission with $28 million funding over four years to help establish NSW as a centre for bushfire technology commercialisation. The 4-year Bushfire Mission includes an early-stage commercialisation grant (Bushfire Commercialisation Fund), a Bushfire Technology Pilots Program to help NSW fire agencies trial new bushfire technologies, support to build a globally competitive, commercial bushfire technology environment, and a STEM school education program with a focus on technologies relevant to bushfire response, to inspire and enable a new generation of technologists.

Most recently, Caroline led the research program for the NSW Innovation and Productivity Council (IPC), made up of industry and higher education leaders. During her time, she co-authored a number of reports including; NSW Innovation Precincts – Lessons from international experience report, providing an evidence-framework to support high value investment decisions in NSW innovation precincts, Let’s Collaborate: SMEs using research to drive innovation and Global Talent Wars – Learning from locations that attract the best that helped shape Investment NSW’s Global Talent Action Plan.

Prior to leading the research program for the IPC, Caroline worked on the National Australian Built Environment Rating System (NABERS) program, a globally recognised environmental rating scheme for commercial buildings; managing new rating tool development, and stakeholder consultation. She also led key aspects of the development of the Biobanking Scheme, a biodiversity offset program while at the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage.
