The impact of fire on soil and landscapes

After fire events, substantial changes occur in soils and landscapes. Soil loss, carbon loss and increased runoff can affect landscape recovery and cause downstream water quality problems.

The soil and landscape assessment team are using soil and land information to predict where sediment point source locations are. This means limited erosion and sediment control resources can be targeted to where they are most needed.

This event is hosted by the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment.
