The NSW Smart Sensing Network, together with UNSW & Genesys Electronics Design, host this industry seminar for researchers interested in developing commercially scalable products with embedded electronics.

The process of translating technologies with embedded electronics into commercially scalable products, ready for global distribution, can be full of pitfalls. Challenges include the myriad of regulations and RF options in multiple jurisdictions, understanding certification processes, designing electronics hardware for manufacturability, aligning maintainable firmware and data models with robust software engineering methods, and keeping up with the rapidly growing range of IoT technology options. Inattention to detail in any one of these areas can lead to design and manufacturing flaws that can delay product delivery with significantly increased cost.

This seminar provides an introduction to the commercialisation of electronics hardware and associated software. The key takeaway will be an appreciation of the importance of early engaging with an experienced commercial electronics designer and what information you need to exchange with them to smooth the product development process.
