AUSTRALIABURNS: ROYAL COMMISSION INSIGHTS & FIRETECH INNOVATION

On Thursday 13 August, Venture Cafe will continue the #AustraliaBurns series connecting emergency services, government and corporates (i.e. insurers and banks) focused on preventing and managing future bushfire threats with innovative solutions from companies who can address the problem in more effective ways. Although COVID-19 is occupying much of our focus (and rightly so) - summer is just around the corner so let's connect to make things happen!

4-5PM: DEMOS & CONNECT - OPEN CALL!

If you have a tech solution that is currently addressing the bushfire disasters or a solution that could be adapted to fit this crisis - we're inviting you to host a demo-table in our virtual cafe space to showcase your capability in front of a community of emergency services, government and business specialists. You'll be in good company alongside members of FireTech Connect!

Apply within or contact hello@venturecafesydney.org for more info!

5-6PM: INSIGHTS & DISCUSSION with Risk Frontiers & FireTech Connect & Minderoo Foundation

Join this conversation with Andrew Gissing, Leigh Kelson and John Sukkar to hear:

  • Insights from the Royal Commission on Bushfires - what changes can we make this summer?

  • Understand how tech is being adapted to solve the fire challenge.

  • Find out which industries and tech providers are ripe to get involved and how you too can be part of the solution!

  • Hear Andrew and Leigh’s  perspectives on the opportunity for corporate Australia - particularly insurance and finance around de-risking the threat.
