NSSN ProjectsResearch in action.
Explore collaborations connecting sensing research with practical challenges across our five priority themes.
AI-Enabled Plug-In Smart Sensing Device for Household Load Monitoring
A non-invasive, AI-enabled smart plug that gives renters appliance-level electricity insights without smart meters, switchboard access, or electrical modification.
Security Labelling Scheme for Smart Devices
Helping to protect Australians from the growing cybersecurity risks associated with internet-connected consumer devices.
OPENAIR Victoria: Community Led Air Quality Network
Validating and pilot testing an AI pre-assessment tool to support the pathway towards autism diagnosis.
Intelligent structural health monitoring of bridges
Producing high performance, low-cost fibre optics and advancing their use in the health monitoring of civil infrastructure by carrying out an integrated experimental and field analysis, machine learning modelling and digital twin solution.
Modelling Thermal Comfort Indices for Greater Sydney
Characterising urban heat around the Greater Sydney Region using earth observational imagery, land segmentation and ground truth data.
Advanced Pipe Sensing to Reduce Leaks & Breaks
Working with Sydney Water and a range of other water industry partners, this $3.4 million program has delivered innovative smart sensing solutions to the water industry.
Operational Network of Air Quality Impact Resources (OPENAIR)
OPENAIR positions NSW as a forerunner in the use of low-cost air quality sensing in the world.
