NSSN Women in Sensing Showcase

  • University of Wollongong Main Campus, Building 67, Room 101 Wollongong Australia (map)

Join the NSW Smart Sensing Network and University of Wollongong for a showcase celebrating women working at the forefront of smart sensing research.

The event will feature a series of short presentations from leading and emerging female researchers from across the University of Wollongong, highlighting the breadth of sensing research underway across science, engineering and technology.

Hear how researchers are developing new sensing technologies and applying them to challenges spanning advanced materials, health, industry and the environment.

Confirmed speakers include Dr Jessie Posar, a Research Fellow in the School of Physics whose work includes next-generation organic semiconductor sensors and printable wearable sensors designed to remain stable in extreme ionising radiation environments, with applications in nuclear, bioelectronic and advanced materials sensing.

Also presenting will be Associate Professor Xiaoping Lu from the School of Mathematics and Applied Statistics, with further speakers to be announced.

The showcase will open with a short welcome, followed by a series of fast-paced, 10-minute research presentations.

Come along to discover some of the exciting smart sensing research being led by women at the University of Wollongong, meet researchers from across disciplines and connect with members of the sensing community.

Complimentary lunch will be served from 12.30pm, with presentations to follow.
